Job Description:

Our client provides support, installation and maintenance services to major clients across the UK focused on Wide Area and Local Area Networking.

Position:                   Project Management / Co-Ordination

       

Department:                        Network Services Division – Specialist Support Services

Generic Functions Providing a professional, managed service into the MoD’s prime contractor for fixed telecommunications, for the project co-ordination and implementation of new data communications circuits and networking infrastructure. The work load is such that it has now opened up a number of additional positions.

Applicants may also be requested to carry out simple tasks, additional to their prime role, as and when required in order to benefit the current project. An example may involve visits to customer sites to carry out physical installation of hardware, logistical or audit functions.

Personal Skills

Technical Competencies are :

? System Engineering principles and practices.
? Familiarity with modern communications systems and signalling protocols.

? Understanding of security restrictions in an MoD communications environment.

Candidates must have a working knowledge of both Wide Area and Local Area Networking hardware and terminology i.e. BT kilostream circuits.

Qualifications

No particular academic qualification is sought, however, preference would be given to candidates with communications / electronics C & G or HND etc. and a proven history of achievement in the data / voice fixed telecommunications industry.

General

All applicants will need to be smart in appearance, in good health, have a flexible-working attitude, a healthy sense of humour and MUST BE SECURITY CLEARED to SC level or above. SC Clearance is a condition of employment.

Hours of Work

8.00 am - 4.30 PM Basic 37.5 hours per week Salary – 25 - 27K
