JOB TITLE: Senior Consultant SUMMARY OF MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To respond to / complete ad hoc specialist investigative work with existing and new clients. To provide a coaching role for consultants / engineers within the Reliability Engineering (RE) section, in order to raise the level of technical expertise within the Company.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION:
Responsible/Accountable to: Team Manager / Principal Consultant (Reliability Engineering) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As part of a Reliability Engineering Team, the Snr Consultant will be required as a minimum to provide the following ; 1. To be available and undertake call off/ad hoc specialist investigations at the request of existing and new clients both on and offshore as required. 2. To respond to such requests at short notice, when required. 3. Set-up of CM services (gathering machine info, selecting measurement points, set-up of databases etc) and handover to RE engineers. 4. To provide an office-based coaching/mentoring role to other group/RE section members in order to enhance their level of technical expertise and introduce common approaches. 5. To participate in regular Senior Consultant forum meetings chaired by the Principal Consultant, to discuss and agree common technical approaches. 6. To contribute towards the development of Quality Work Instructions (QWI’s) and technical training material. 7. To provide the frontline support (client interface) to a limited number of clients and deliver the scope of services as defined in the contract. To have a proactive approach, seeking to continuously improve the service and generate new business opportunities. 8. To adhere to the Company’s Quality Assurance (QA) and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE procedures). 9. To continue to pursue personal development through self learning and to maintain knowledge of latest technologies and methodologies. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: The diverse nature of the work means that the position requires the individual to develop a broad range of skills. The skills’ level required for individual tasks are defined on the Company’s Skills Matrix (QAF 30). Any deficiencies will be addressed by participation in the Company’s skills-based training / competency programme.
1. Multi-channel transient data acquisition and analysis of same.
Relocation packages can be provided if required, candidates would have to be willing to work offshore with some international travel possibly required. |
