Outline of the job
Installation, repair and maintenance off-site and as and when required in our Workshops, of diesel engines and other products distributed by CEC. The ability to work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Completes repairs within target times and without rework following all published procedures and policies.
Ability to accurately carry out fault diagnostics based on Customer/CSA’s description of the problem.
Accurate and timely completion of Service Documentation, meeting Minimum Claims Documentation Requirements (MCDR)
Highlight ‘up sell’ opportunities to the Customer and ensure that any ‘rejected’ opportunities are evident on the Service Worksheet before Customer signature
Correct, timely and accurate submission of Timesheets/Service Worksheets.
When required, disseminate knowledge and experience to other Service personnel
Undertakes training in line with skill requirements and completes all “Promo Pacs
Ensures Personal tool kit meets ‘minimum requirements’ and personal and Company supplied tooling is maintained to the appropriate standards
Comply with Company and Government legislation regarding
H & S (use of PPE etc)
Comply with Company and Government environmental legislation
Maintain work area and Service Van cleanliness
Other duties / responsibilities determined by the CSA
Qualifications
Minimum of City & Guilds or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
Completion of diesel engine apprenticeship – desirable
Experience and Skills Required
Proven record in diagnosing and repairing of diesel engines
Mechanical / Electrical experience
Truck shop/reconditioning/rebuilding experience
Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting
Brakes, Air and Hydraulics with Suspension, Clutches and Air Systems
Welding and Trailer Maintenance
Light and Heavy Truck Maintenance
