JOB TITLE: Engineer / Consultant
DEPARTMENT: Reliability Engineering
SALARY: £23K - £38K, OTE £44K - £48K

SUMMARY
To operate/develop and manage a Condition Monitoring programme for one or more clients, both onshore and offshore, applying various Condition Monitoring techniques. 

Responsibilities
Vibration Monitoring
• Set up of vibration monitoring databases
• Collection of quality vibration data from rotating machinery
• database management.

Lube Oil Analysis
• Set up of Lube Oil Analysis programme.
• Collection of oil samples from plant
• Liaison with Oil Analysis Laboratory.
• Analysis / Interpretation of the lube oil / grease sample results in order to diagnose equipment defects.

Performance Monitoring
• Complete performance assessments on centrifugal pumps, particularly emergency fire-pumps and complete report as per QWI. • General monitoring of performance indicators on as part of routine service.

Project Management
• Arrange adequate cover for planned absences for all prior to being out of office for more than 2 days.
• Advise Team Manager (TM) on content of draft invoices during review process.
• Ensure analysis and reporting as per the Quality Plan for all your responsible contracts.
• Be responsible for providing external and internal timesheets to accounts by month end

Time Management
• Notify TM of any potentially non-chargeable time to enable alternative work to be allocated
• Maximise chargeability at all times within the budgetary constraints of relevant projects.
• Keep resourcing spreadsheets up-to-date at all times.
• Ensure adequate cover for all contracts for which the engineer is the Responsible Engineer.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* PC literate, (Word, Excel, email) and possess good report writing skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment and to show initiative when required.
* Highly motivated and be able to adopt a proactive approach to system improvement/problem solving and knowledge sharing.
* An understanding of CM and the role it has in Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).
* Direct ‘hands on’ experience in the set up and operation of a condition monitoring programme, involving the use of hand held vibration data collectors and analysis software as well as lubricant analysis and collection of quality samples.
* Able to review/analyse all relevant data and provide information/report to client on overall machinery/system condition/integrity.
* Knowledge of the different types of transducer used for vibration data collection. e.g. accelerometers, velocity transducers, non contact proximity probes etc.
* Good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of rotating machinery. This may include gas and steam turbines, centrifugal pumps and compressors, reciprocating and screw compressors, induction motors, generators, fans, diesel engines, gearboxes, cranes etc.
* Sound knowledge of the component parts of such machinery e.g. bearings (journal/rolling element), seals, impellers, turbine compressors (gas generators), power turbines, lube oil systems, coolers, ancillary equipment (seal oil/lube oil pumps) etc.

Exposure to such equipment in the oil and gas industry environment.

Salary commensurate with experience

Relocation packages can be provided if required, candidates would have to be willing to work offshore with some international travel possibly required.
